The Biblical Nature and Mission of the Church

Our understanding about the nature and word of the church is that the church has the responsibility of carrying out the great commission. This concept is based on a biblical understanding that the church is a local body of people who have professed faith in Jesus Christ, been baptized by immersion, and committed to the teaching of Jesus Christ. It is a community of believers who seek to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth and are committed to a common, local and global mission of calling people to be reconciled to God in Christ and nurturing them in growth towards God intentions for their lives.
