BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF DR. ROBERT E. FOWLER SR.

Meet The Pastor....

Pastor's Letter To My Victory Family,
This is an exciting time in the history of Victory Missionary Baptist Church. Celebrating a half of century of GLORIFICATION AND dedication TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR Jesus Christ.

Victory has experienced many challenges over the last 50 years, but God’s mission and vision has always been steadfast. What has God done? He has made Victory the Church “Where the Lord is lifted and the Word is Learned.” He has given us an assignment to know Him for ourselves and to make him known. He has breathed dynamic, electrifying, corporate praise and worship into the life of our church. He has entrusted us to accurately disseminate the word of God and to act boldly in producing civic and social change; and to provide stimulation for the physical and recreational needs of our congregation and our community as well.

Is it enough that 50 years has past? No, we must continue to lift up the name of the most high by continuing with the spirit of energy, vitality and grace in our teaching of His word and in fellowship with His saints.

Victory, I salute you for your obedience to Christ and for all your support in making this 50th year a joyous and unforgettable occasion.

By Mercy and Grace,
Dr. Robert E. Fowler Sr.

THE BIRTH OF A NEW BEGINNING
VICTORY BLACK MOUNTAIN CHURCH (VBMC)

As Victory continued with its Goals, Mission and Vision, God put upon the Pastors heart to extend his reach of Evangelism. On June 3, 2007 in the city of Henderson Nevada. Victory Black Mountain Church was founded. Our church was born out of the vision given by God to Dr. Robert E. Fowler, Sr., Senior Pastor of Victory Missionary Baptist Church, to be the church where God meets life’s needs. Dr. Fowler serves as Senior Pastor of both the Victory Missionary Baptist Church and Youth Big Bear Camp the Victory Black Mountain Church conducting 4 to 5 services each week between both churches.

Victory Black Mountain Church

The original location of the church was inside the Black Mountain Recreation Center located at 599 Greenway Road, Henderson Nevada. A small team of church members would unpack the furnishings of the church each Sunday morning from the off-site storage location before the services and then return the furnishings back to storage after service.

It was no mistake that the satellite church came to life. The vision and the need was there for a church in Black Mountain and God made way for Victory Missionary Baptist Church and our pastor to be approached with the opportunity to house the church inside the Black Mountain Recreation Center. With prayer and the approval of Victory Missionary Baptist Church officers, the satellite church began.

The church services included a Life Development class starting at 10:30 a.m. followed by the worship service at 11:15 a.m. Later a children’s ministry was added on Sunday mornings as well. On June 8, 2007, just one week following the June 3rd inaugural service, Sis. Shirley Sanders united as the member and Sis Cecelia D. Jacobsen united as our first new convert. On February 5, 2009, we held our first mid-week service at the near-by Neighborhood Church. Over the next 2 ½ years, Victory Black Mountain experienced many firsts to include our first dedication in Liam B. Thomas and our first loss of a church family member Nava E. Long (a member from 03/09/08 until her loss 10/28/09). The membership experienced a steady increase and on December 6, 2009, the Lord gave Victory Black Mountain a new church home located at 700 South Boulder Highway in Henderson, Nevada 89015. There are now over 14 ministries, over 200 members. Our first Men’s ministry was held June 18, 2010; our first revival was held July 12, 2010 lead by Pastor Lee Hall from Fort Worth, Texas. Each ministry has continued to be strengthened and we are well on our way towards meeting the financial goals of our first United in Christ building campaign which will result in funds being raised sufficient enough to construct two classrooms, upgrade the kitchen area, and provide other visual enhancements to the church.
